Natalie began her academic career after years working as a regional truck driver, a role that provided her with a unique perspective on the world and its various challenges. She started at Chaffey College, where she diligently pursued her studies and obtained degrees in history and accounting, disciplines that not only fueled her intellectual curiosity but also equipped her with crucial skills for her future endeavors. Additionally, she earned a certificate in Counterintelligence and Anti-terrorism, reflecting her commitment to understanding complex global issues and contributing to national security.

In 2018, Natalie was invited on a prestigious study abroad program in South Africa, a vibrant country known for its diverse culture and rich history. During her time there, she immersed herself in the fascinating world of international relations and diplomacy, attending lectures from renowned scholars and participating in discussions that broadened her understanding of global issues. She also had the opportunity to engage with local communities, exploring the complexities of socio-political dynamics while forming lasting friendships with peers from around the world. This transformative experience not only deepened her academic knowledge but also inspired her passion for promoting cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.

Natalie received her bachelor’s degree in history from Oregon State University, where she developed a profound understanding of historical contexts that shape contemporary issues. Following her graduation, she moved on to Trinity Law School, where she graduated with a juris doctorate. During her time at Trinity Law School, she not only excelled academically but also took part in two enriching study abroad programs in Cambodia and France, where she focused on human rights laws. In Cambodia, she collaborated with local NGOs to examine the impact of historical injustices relating to the genocide committed by the Khmer Rouge and the extensive sex trafficking that continues to plague the nation and its capital city, Phnom Penh. While in France, she engaged with European legal systems at the ICC and researched their approaches to human rights protections relating to genocide. These experiences solidified her passion for social justice and equipped her with a global perspective on human rights advocacy.

She went on to follow her passion and received a master’s degree in history from California State University San Bernardino, where she immersed herself in the study of the early-middle ages on the British Isles, conducting extensive research on various historical events and their significance in shaping modern religion and societies.

Natalie worked as a wedding coordinator from 2015 to 2021 for her local church, where she brought her passion for event planning to life. During her tenure, she developed a wedding and events department from the ground up, transforming the church into a highly sought-after venue. Through meticulous strategic planning and a carefully curated marketing plan, Natalie was able to increase the frequency of weddings by an astounding 600%, drawing in couples from various backgrounds who wished to celebrate their special day in a beautiful and meaningful setting. Under her guidance, the church opened their doors to LGBTQ+ couples to honor and celebrate their commitment through marriage. Additionally, she successfully secured several contracts with production companies to utilize the facility for filming, thereby not only enhancing the church’s reputation but also generating additional revenue streams to support community initiatives.

In 2016, Natalie took a job as an accounts receivable clerk for a workers’ compensation defense law firm in Riverside County, where she quickly became familiar with the intricate financial processes that were vital to the firm’s operations. Her diligence and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and within a year, she was promoted to office manager, a role in which she not only managed the administrative functions but also played a key part in improving workflow efficiency and fostering a positive work environment. During her tenure, she developed strong relationships with the staff and clients, further solidifying her reputation as a reliable and dedicated professional. She remained with the law firm until it tragically closed in 2024, an event that took many by surprise, marking the end of an era for both the firm and for Natalie, who had invested so much in her role there.

When not working or researching, Natalie spends hours with her nose buried in a book or drafting her current manuscript, immersing herself in different worlds and characters that inspire her creativity. She enjoys a quiet life with her daughter and new husband, often cherishing the simple moments spent together, whether it’s sharing a meal, playing games, or taking long walks on the beach in San Diego. Their home is filled with the playful antics of their two dogs and a cat who enjoys lounging in the sunlight or watching the birds. This peaceful routine allows Natalie to recharge her mind and spirit, providing her with the perfect backdrop for her writing endeavors.
